On Day 1 of your trip, you will be picked up from practically any hotel in the central San Francisco area and bring you to the motor coach departure point. Your bus to Yosemite National Park is scheduled to leave at 7:00 a.m.

Your trip begins with an eastward jaunt through the placid San Joaquin Valley. A brief rest stop is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., after which you’ll continue to Yosemite National Park, reaching your destination at about 12:15 p.m. Entering the park, you’ll get a glimpse of many of its most beautiful and best-known sights and attractions, including a drive up Tunnel View that showcases the beauty of Yosemite Valley and El Capitan, Bridalveil Falls, and the Half Dome.

The introductory tour continues along the Merced River, past Three Brothers and Sentinel Rock. You’ll cruise through meadows and past the Chapel across Sentinel Bridge, reaching Yosemite Lodge at about 1:45 p.m.

At this point, you can leave your luggage with the staff at the Yosemite Lodge and spend the rest of the afternoon exploring on your own. To get to the Yosemite View Lodge in El Portal, take the YARTS bus from Yosemite Lodge at any of the following times:

  •        4:00 p.m.
  •        4:35 p.m.
  •        5:20 p.m.
  •        5:55 p.m.

Continue your adventure on Day 2 by taking the 7:23 a.m. or the 8:56 a.m. YARTS bus from the hotel back to Yosemite Lodge. On the second day of your trip, you have the option to explore the park on your own or take part in one of the following tours:

On Day 3, you’ll check out of the hotel and take the 7:23 a.m. or the 8:56 a.m. YARTS bus back to the Yosemite Lodge. Again, you’ll leave your luggage with the lodge staff and head off on your own for the day or take one of the aforementioned tours. If you like, you can book one of the tours for the second day of your trip and another for the final day of your visit, though the 8-hour Grand Tour wouldn’t be possible on the final day. Return motor coach transportation to San Francisco is scheduled for a 3:45 p.m. departure. After a rest stop at 6:30 p.m., you’ll arrive back in San Francisco at approximately 9:00 p.m.

Here are a few important details to keep in mind:

We strongly recommend that you do not attempt to make a nighttime flight out of San Francisco on the same day of your return from the trip. Traffic delays can occur and you may not be able to reach the airport in time.

We require that you book at least 3 business days in advance of your scheduled departure date, but it is recommended that you book as far in advance as possible. It usually takes about 2 to 5 business days for us to confirm a booking, but confirmations may take longer if you’ve requested a date that is several weeks or months away.

Trips run daily by motor coach from May 1 to October 31.

From November 1 to April 30, transportation is by Amtrak train and bus.
