Hollywood Blvd: Chinese Theatre opened on May 18th, 1927, home to more movie premieres than any other movie theatre in the world. Of course, most people come to the Chinese Theatre today to see the cement handprints and footprints of the many stars who have had their movies premiered here over the years. Next to the Chinese Theatre, you'll see the Dolby Theatre, the crown jewel of Ovation, magnificent retail, dining, and entertainment complex.
Sunset Strip: The world-famous Sunset Strip is famous for its glittering nightlife, packed with nightclubs, hotels, and restaurants. Here you might find your favorite celebrity dining out in cafés or shopping in one of the many trendy boutiques. The Art Deco tower Sunset Tower Hotel has been Home to Errol Flynn, Frank Sinatra, and Marilyn Monroe. 'The Whiskey a Go-Go' where go-go dancing was born. A famous Hollywood star was discovered working here as a go-go girl, Goldie Hawn. 'The Doors' used to be the house band here before being discovered.
Beverly Hills: The most famous street in Beverly Hills is Rodeo Drive – a celebrated showcase of glamorous fashion and jewelry shops. Have your camera ready to take a picture of The Beverly Hills shield. The Beverly Hills shield is at five locations around the City's perimeter. The shield is recognized worldwide as representing the City's unique character more than any other symbol.
Museum Row: As you continue your journey at Fairfax, lies the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, known to locals as LACMA – considered the largest encyclopedic art museum west of Chicago - with artwork from ancient to contemporary across the globe. Highlights from the collection include American works by Winslow Homer, European works by Picasso, Rembrandt, Rodin, Monet, Degas, Renoir, Van Gogh & Cezanne. Suppose you are interested in history dating a bit further back. In that case, the Tar Pits are one of the world's most famous fossil localities, recognized for having the largest and most diverse assemblage of extinct Ice Age plants and animals, all recovered from the asphalt deposits of the Tar Pits. LACMA, where you may notice their new iconic artwork called "Urban Light" - a remarkable sculpture composed of more than 200 antique cast iron lampposts created in the 1920s and '30s for towns all over Los Angeles.
Farmers Market: The farmers market has over 100 shops, restaurants, and grocers. It is a delightful place to shop, dine and explore. Melrose Ave: The world-famous Melrose Ave. is a street that defines hip shopping in Los Angeles. The storefronts can often be pop artworks, and the approximately dozen blocks display famous murals. As you head back to Hollywood Blvd, you get views of the Hollywood sign erected in 1923 and originally read 'Hollywood-land'.
The Pantages Theatre: The Pantages Theatre, which is on the corner of Hollywood Blvd., was built in 1930 and has a breathtaking Art Deco lobby and auditorium – this is truly one of the most spectacular theatre interiors ever built.
Capitol Records: Capitol Records was the first record company based on the West Coast and has promoted such acts as The Beatles, the Beach Boys, Pink Floyd, and Frank Sinatra.
