- What is the HOP-ON HOP-OFF tour?
Starline's CitySightseeing HOP-ON HOP-OFF allows you to discover all the sites and major attractions of Los Angeles! It's a city tour that gives you the freedom to get on or off the open-top buses at over 50 stops around the city. At any stop you can spend as much time as you want shopping, eating at various restaurants or checking out attractions. When you are ready to continue with the tour, you can refer to our timetable and get on the next scheduled bus. - How long can I use my HOP-ON HOP-OFF ticket?
You can purchase a HOP-ON HOP-OFF ticket that is valid for 24-hrs ($40 Adult) or 48-hrs ($55 Adult). We also offer child and family discounts. If you want to change a 24-hr ticket into a 48-hr ticket, you can purchase the extension on the bus from the driver before the ticket expires. - Is the ticket valid for all of the routes?
Yes, the tickets are valid for all of the routes - RED (Hollywood), YELLOW (Beverly Hills and Santa Monica), and PURPLE (Downtown LA) routes, as well as the BLUE (Universal Connector Service). - Is the tour narrated?
The tours are fully narrated - pointing out the places of interest and the history of the city. The narration is pre-recorded in clear English and is triggered by GPS. The BLUE Connector Service does not have narration. - What are the HOP-ON HOP-OFF routes and duration of the tours?
There are 4 interconnecting routes stretching from the Beach to Downtown Los Angeles:- RED [2hrs] includes: Hollywood Blvd, Chinese Theatre, Sunset Strip, Rodeo Drive, West Hollywood, LACMA, La Brea Tar Pits, Farmers Market, Melrose Ave. and more!
- YELLOW [2hrs] includes: 3rd St Promenade, Montana Ave., Brentwood, Westwood, UCLA, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Century City, Westside Pavilion and more!
- PURPLE [2hrs 15min] includes: Olvera St., Little Tokyo, Chinatown, Jewelry District, Bradbury Building, Fashion District, LA Live, Staples Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Cathedral of Our Lady and more!
- BLUE [1hr]: Connecting Chinese Theatre , Universal Studios Hollywood, Hilton Universal, Sheraton Universal and Hollywood Bowl Amphitheatre.
- What types of buses are used for the HOP-ON HOP-OFF?
The buses for the Hollywood and Santa Monica routes are open-top London Double-Decker buses, allowing you to see the city from a unique perspective. The Downtown LA route uses an open-top Single-Decker bus, and the Universal Connector service is an enclosed air conditioned shuttle bus. - What are the hours of operation for the HOP-ON HOP OFF buses?
We operate 7 days a week from 9:00am to as late as 8:30pm. Bus timetables can be downloaded from the website www.starlinetours.com. Hollywood, Downtown LA and Universal Tours start at 9:00am from the Chinese Theatre Stop (#1), and the Santa Monica Tour starts at 10:00am from the Beverly Hills/W.3rd St. Stop (#7) and at 9:25AM from the Santa Monica Visitor Information Center on Main Street Stop (#56) - How do I connect from one route to another route?
The Yellow Route and the Red Route connect at STOP 7 (Beverly Hills/W. 3rd St.) - between Burton Way and S. Santa Monica Blvd. behind the Beverly Hills Court House). The Red Route, Purple Route and the Universal Connector Service all connect at STOP 1 (The Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Blvd). - Where do I buy my ticket for the HOP-ON HOP-OFF tour?
You can purchase tickets online at www.starlinetours.com, StarLine Tour ticket offices located at the forecourt of Chinese Theatre or Santa Monica Pier, Los Angeles area hotels or Hop-On Hop-Off buses. - Where can I find a HOP-ON HOP-OFF bus stop?
At this time we have physical bus stop signs at Yellow Route stops #52-61, #63, Red Route stops #1-3, #9-17, and Blue Connector Service stops #22 and #25. For stops without physical bus stop signs please refer to our HOP-ON HOP-OFF brochure or our website www.starlinetours.com, where you can find the street addresses for our stop locations around the city. - Are HOP-ON, HOP-OFF Tours "child friendly"?

Yes, we operate year round. Refer to our HOP-ON, HOP-OFF brochure or our website www.starlinetours.com for summer and winter timetables. - Can we join the tour at any HOP-ON, HOP-OFF stop?
Yes, the narration is linked to each stop so if you stay on the bus you will always hear and experience the entire route, however joining at starting points is preferred. - Does my HOP-ON, HOP-OFF ticket enable me to any additional benefits?

Every other bus (at a minimum) on each Hop-On Hop-Off loop is wheelchair accessible. If you require more specific details on the timing of these wheelchair accessible buses on any of the loops please call 1-855-4LAHOPON (1-855-452-4676) or 1-323-580-6155 the day of the tour. NOTE: All other StarLine Tours are wheelchair accessible, but all customers are recommended to reserve tours at least 24-hours in advance by calling the main StarLine Tours office at 1-800-959-3131.
